Today I’ll be tasting and growing White Sapote or Casimiroa and doing an experiment of growing them from seed in several methods to see what works the best. I’ll be planting these seeds in soil as well as in paper towels but I’ll also be cutting the outer layer off the seeds to see what affect that has on their growth. Join me as I grow and taste this amazing, tropical yet fairly hardy fruit which grows on a massive prolific tree. I’ll also show you a mature white sapote tree in the video which is absolutely covered in fruit! White Sapote (Casimiroa edulis) also known as Mexican Apple is a distant relative of the citrus family, Rutaceae, but this subtropical fruit is very different. It’s a rare and unusual fruit and is native to eastern Mexico and Central America south to Costa Rica.
