- the average germination time of basil is from 5 to 14 days.
- this period is valid under the condition of a temperature of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius
- the seed pot is located in a semi-shaded place
- the light sprouts must not be covered with substrate
Knowledgeable amateur gardeners create a warm and humid microclimate to raise the germination mood of basil seeds. For this purpose, the seed tray is covered with a sheet of glass or covered with cling film. In this case, daily airing is mandatory, so that mold does not form. In addition, the seeds must not dry out or float in water.
